FOUR! I've completed four new stories and some artwork in December. Go me!

1) Finished 12/06 - about 23,000:
2020 Sesa - This is my original SeSa.
2) Finished 12/15 - about 5800:
2020 SeSa - This is my backup SeSa. I was stupid enough to allow someone who had failed to complete SeSa in both 2014 and 2016 sign up this year, under the condition that she would get no extension and if she failed to complete a story this year, she'd be permanently banned. She agreed. She not only failed to post a story, she didn't even have the courtesy to email me that she was dropping out! Anyway - As promised, I reassigned her assignment when she failed to post a story. I wrote this in less than 24-hours. The rough draft due date was 12/14. I was done writing 12/15. I'm baffled that people cannot complete a story in 8 weeks, yet I can get done in 1 day.
3) Finished 12/19 - about 3350:
2020 HHC - I'm not quite ready to post this as we had one other writer go MIA for SeSa after missing her extended due date, although she has now loaded *something* after I emailed her yesterday and said if she failed to get a story loaded today, I'd be reassigning hers as well. She did respond to the email. Anyway, I'm holding this one up because it's done and could be used as a SeSa if there are any last-minute drop-outs.
4) Finished 12/19 - about 925:
2020 HHC - This is the sequel to the above. I wrote the first one Friday night into Sat morning, and wrote the second one at the end of Sat.

I've posted all three of my BBs. Three is the max you can enter in the Big Bang-Multi Bang. I'm now the first and only person who has done so. It was fun once, but not sure I'd ever want to try again.

I will say, I was a bit sad and hurt that I had 1/3 of the BB summaries this year. And yet, mine were 3 of the last 4 claimed for artwork. Only 1 of mine got claimed the first day, and I ended up self-claiming one after 3 days because no one was interested in it. But I am happy with the artwork I did.

Oddly enough though, if the first three summaries claimed weren't in the running, then mine would have been the first three claimed, instead of the last. My summaries tend to be the bridesmaids. Basically, they're the 2nd or 3rd choice and the artist just gets an earlier choice. My summaries are almost always claimed later. Oh well.

I'm also seeing a trend, though, where certain artists are claiming authors that they work with on a regular basis. Obviously, they know which summaries belong to their friends. All I will say is that I hope they're making their choices based on the summary, not their friendship with the authors. Just saying, it's nice to see artists work for different authors - and for different authors to get the best artists to treat them, so I would truly like the artists to claim the summaries that appeal to them the most, no matter whose they are. However, as I run the claims, I can say they are fair. They are LIVE. There is no way I can alter the outcome (unless I delete comments, which I would never do in this case), so if they pick a friend's summary and get it, it was all fairly done.

I wasn't going to sign up for the RB in 2019. I really didn't have time and pretty much for years have been writing for one challenge or another. I felt I needed a break. Although, I also wanted to write. I did start something based on a piece that was not claimed. I decided I would claim it if I got close enough to finish a story. Sad to say, there was a lot of family turmoil and issues going on in Feb-April. I simply did not really have time to write. Maybe I'll finish this one day. This revolves around bringing Ziva back onto the team after she left.

Starting this up again. So I have a list of ideas that I keep, but have not started writing. As these are just thoughts, they may or may not ever get written. If I haven't written a bunny in 5 years, I usually delete it. Remember my Brokeback Mountain bunny? Yep, gave up on that. Never started it, can't remember where I was even going to go, so it's wiped for now. It happens. I have written stories with horses, so that will suffice for now.
On the other hand, I had Alien bunny on the list for years and that eventually became a BB story, and one of the longer stories I've written, Visions. So, you just never know!

I completed one story. I probably started it mid to late May.

I signed up for the BB, got a silly bunny and I've actually finished it. YAY! This is the earliest I've ever finished a BB. Since it's for the BB, I'm giving no details for now, and I haven't yet settled on a title. I'm really excited that it will be finished (I plan to put it down for a bit, then do a couple full read-throughs before sending off to a beta) and perhaps even beta'd before the rough draft due date.

Since this one is done so early, I may try to get a second story done before August. As this one has hit the big bang level (currently 26K), I can still even post a micro bang story, too. We'll see if I get another bunny to hop along this summer! Hmmm...Photography Bunny only needs a couple thousand more words to get it the micro bang level, so maybe I can finish that one up. The other one, is based on a 2019 RB image, I won't use that for the BB since there is already an image for it that it is based on. I'm pretty sure the artist will allow me to use that artwork, and will likely even be happy to add my name and a title to the piece...IF it ever gets finished.

Christmas In Stillwater
I wrote this for Geminiangel64. She'd missed the SeSa sign-ups this year, plus had completed something for all 24 advent days of the Happy Holidays Challenge. It's a fluffy, feel-good Christmassy story. Gibbs finds Tony's dad has ditched him last minute, so Gibbs insists on taking Tony to Stillwater.

In Another World
I wrote this for Cutsycat. She also completed something for all 24 advent days of the Happy Holidays Challenge. She had a holiday wish for something with Kort. I'm not really a fan of Kort and usually don't include him. I tried though. Short little ficlet with Kort explaining an alternate take of the Tali situation.

When the season premiere (Sept 2014) started with Gibbs and Tim in a helicopter crash, I thought to abandon this, but it's different. They crashed in a forest, shot down and chased by bad guys. In my story, they crash in the ocean and wind up on an island.

My name is Jacie, and I have 6 WIPs.

So wow, I haven't posted an update here in months! So, major health issues with the parents. I got a call from the atty saying it was time to invoke the POA. The next day, a police car pulled up informing me my parents were lost and I had to go pick them up as they didn't think Dad should drive any more. They took the keys away. Each brother spent some time here, and agreed that they cannot be allowed to live in their house. They need 24/7 care. We moved them close to my brothers (a couple states away from me). They both have dementia. Dad still doesn't understand that he has issues. We set them up in an apartment in an assisted living place, where they have 24/7 caregivers on hand, meals prepared, and they have someone who cleans the apartment and washes their laundry. One of my brothers or SiLs visits them each day of the week. Probably more than any other resident. I only saw them 2-3 days a week when they lived across the street! On the other hand, Dad can't even operate the TV remote anymore and that's all he wants to do. Mom just wants to sleep and Dad just wants to watch sports.
I released the medical POA to my brother since he's there with them. I am still the POA for everything else and the trustee of the trust. I'm stuck talking to the atty and finance guy, and will have to clear out and sell the house. So much to do and so little time. It takes a lot of time just to sort through their mail and pay their bills. Anyway, that's what's going on this year rather than much writing. Although, I only wrote 3 stories last year.

Healed by Moonlight - This was my SeSa for dont_hate_me_01. It's my 3rd SeSa for her, and I think it's the best. I wrote shapeshifters, even though it's not something I'm into. Since I'm not into it, I don't know much about them...or vampires. I did a bit of research, but did make up my very own race of shapeshifters. I think it went over pretty well.

I am usually not happy with stories that I post. They always seem to be better in my head before I write them down. But I will say, I am so very proud of all of my 2018 stories. There were only 3, but I really like them all. The first was Whisper In The Wind for the Reverse Bang. I feel like this is the best NCIS story I've ever written. Just love it to pieces and so proud of how it turned out. Although, it's been about a year since I've read it. Visions was my Big Bang, about aliens. And MPreg. Something I said I would never write. Standard MPreg, no. But this was alien MPreg, so okay. I tried. I'm happy with the end result. The last story was Healed By Moonlight, with shapeshifters and vampires. Two more things I'd said I'd never write. So I stretched as an author last year and was happy with the results.

I did start writing second chances in 2018, but finished and posted it in 2019. Very early 2019. It was mostly written in 2018. I always wanted to connect the two fielding families. I've been waiting for the series to do it and they never did. So I wrote this. I got my first troll who kept posting how this could never happen the way I wrote it. Here's the thing. It's FICTION. There are a LOT of fiction stories out there that can't happen. The entire series has tons of flaws in it, so get the FUCK off my case, TROLL CHRISSIE. I was in a bad mood when I saw her comments...and she didn't just post one, she posted two as in, "Oh I forgot to add...". I had had a long day (lots of OT to keep up) and lots of issues with my parents (they both have dementia and live across the street, so if I'm not working, I'm usually over there, before work, on my breaks, lunch, after work and weekends. I work OT, then have to do their shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc, plus my own, too. Fanfic is the one happy place right now) and I was simply NOT IN THE MOOD. So I deleted her comments. She then posted anonymously how I delete any comment that I don't agree with. BULLSHIT. I've only deleted one person's comments in 15 years, and it was hers. Ha. So I deleted her anonymous comment and made it so no one can comment anonymously. Bye Troll. I have no time for you.

Once I finished my BB # 2 in 2016, I tried adding a bit to this. I was thinking maybe it could be a Micro Bang story. I'm just not sure where to go with it though. Do I make it an undercover fic? Or does Tony get offered a job as a musician full time? Do I just make a short little bit of fluff at the bar? Hmmm.

I haven't added to this one in a long while and I would love to get it finished so I can present it to Naemi before she loses all interest in reading NCIS. I've been thinking more about this one. I'd really like to finish it one day.

Oh my gosh! Alien fic is finally complete! Woo Hoo! Okay, I started this to be my BB in 2017 and quickly realized it needed more time and attention than I could give it. So I started working on it again for the 2018 BB. Then all the health issues with my parents happened and I was working a lot of OT. My goal was to get it to about 20K-25K. It wound up around 67650, which amazes me. With all the issues I had this year, I'm surprised it got done at all. I did cut it down from my original plans for 2017, which was far more detailed and likely would have wound up at least 100K...LOL. Rose was so helpful, not only providing alien artwork! But really had a lot of great suggestions for the story. I'm just glad this one is done! YAY!

I suppose I should take a good look at my old bunnies. I'd really like to finish the undercover bunny. I always think it's further along than it is. But I'd actually be happy for it to wind up around 10K. We'll see. I may dust it off and take another look.

Oh, I've been kicking this one around for a few years, probably since 2014 or 2015, but never started writing it until 2017. This was intended to be my 2017 BB, but didn't make it. Maybe this year? So far I'm thinking Earth is taken over by aliens who enslave humans. Tim gets nabbed and one of the aliens takes him as a sex slave/pet. Ducky, Jimmy, Tony and Gibbs get away to Gibbs' cabin, but are trying to save Jackson, Tim, and Ziva/Bishop (ETA - using Bishop). Ha! I could probably kill off Ziva in this and not take too much heat for it. Maybe I'll use it for Big Bang 2018?
ETA: I just read through my original notes there and this has really changed since then. No Jimmy. No Jackson. Since I went with Ellie, Jackson is already gone. Tony is in the field with Ellie, and Gibbs has taken Abby and Ducky to his cabin. Again, just time restraints are going to cut this story way shorter than my original plan. I don't suspect it will go over well. It jumps between Tony & Ellie, Gibbs, Ducky & Abby, and Tim on his own. Still needs some work, but I think it will definitely get over 10K. Might hit 15K, which is about half what I originally envisioned.
ETA 2: I cut Jimmy in an attempt to keep the story shorter. I put him on a 2-week vacation. However, the story covers about 10 months. Anyway, it felt odd leaving him out, so I brought him back into the story at the end. And the story jumps. So, we have 6-8 weeks or so, then the story jumps about 7 months, then another 2 weeks. I added an OC - Todd Carter - to be with Tim. I think he's a great addition to the story. I had a struggle trying to decide whether to put Tim with Todd or Abby, but I finally chose. At any rate, it's DONE! YAY!

I have started and completed my 2018 RB, which is my second longest stand-alone NCIS story. It's around 62K. I'd been mentally toying with writing a different version of the events when Gibbs and McGee are taken captive in Paraguay. So, this is it. It's an AU version where there is no Tali. Tony was merely reassigned as team leader in Rota. I'm happy with it and it's off to my beta. Although, she's still writing her own RB, so I'm not sure when I'll get this back. Posting should be in May.

Once I finished my BB # 2 in 2016, I tried adding a bit to this. I was thinking maybe it could be a Micro Bang story. I'm just not sure where to go with it though. Do I make it an undercover fic? Or does Tony get offered a job as a musician full time? Do I just make a short little bit of fluff at the bar? Hmmm.

This one has been bouncing around my head for a couple of years. Never started it, just had some general idea for it. Based kind of sort of Cast Away. When the season premiere (Sept 2014) started with Gibbs and Tim in a helicopter crash, I thought to abandon this, but it's different. They crashed in a forest, shot down and chased by bad guys. In my story, they crash in the ocean and wind up on an island.

Naemi is so good to me that I wanted to write something for her. I started writing it during the BB writing period. I may have added a couple hundred words here and there since. It is currently at 3770. Tim/Tony undercover. Tim gets kidnapped and tortured. I haven't added to this one in a long while and I would love to get it finished so I can present it to Naemi before she loses all interest in reading NCIS. I've been thinking more about this one. I'd really like to finish it one day.

I started it during the summer (BB writing period...I was struggling with The Contract and started a few other projects during this time, also got several chapters of SOLD! done.) So it's undercover, Gibbs as a photographer. Maybe abandoned forever.

I recently (2014?) watched most of Brokeback Mountain. I've been yearning to write a cowboy AU for quite a while. Maybe for BB one year? I haven't put anything down or made any firm thoughts of plot or direction.

I really want to complete my stories. It helps to keep track of them, so they're not forgotten.

I know. I JUST did one of these. But I'm happy I've been able to complete another WIP and get it off the (WIP) books! I'm going to enjoy being down to 5 WIPs for a day or two, but will have to get started on my SeSa soon. I'm also thinking about writing something for the Holiday Challenge. I don't know. I'm still feeling rundown. I can't motivate myself to get much done other than writing. I've been off work for six weeks and haven't done a thing to make my house better (cleaning and organizing). Plus I will be out of town for a few days.

I have completed and posted Fragile! I wrote two chapters last year, and another three in the last 4-5 days.

Oh, I've been kicking this one around for a few years, probably since 2014 or 2015, but never started writing it until 2017. I'm considering using this as my Big Bang, but I doubt I will get it done in time. So far I'm thinking Earth is taken over by aliens who enslave humans. Tim gets nabbed and one of the aliens takes him as a sex slave/pet. Ducky, Jimmy, Tony and Gibbs get away to Gibbs' cabin, but are trying to save Jackson, Tim, and Ziva/Bishop (ETA - using Bishop). Ha! I could probably kill off Ziva in this and not take too much heat for it. Maybe I'll use it for Big Bang 2018?

I didn't expand much on the universe Broken was written in as Tony was kidnapped, which didn't leave much time to explore the D/s relationship between Tony and Gibbs. This was going to be a short Tony as a teenager and how he got to that s level. I wrote about 1800 WC Sept 11. Sort of a sad, painful little story. I found the first two chapters seem complete, so I'm working on ch 3. I'm hoping to keep this one short. So maybe 3-5 chapters.
ETA: 5 chapters was the magic number. It is now done and posted!

I've been musing about writing musician fic for a bit. I had some great stuff come to me when I was drifting off, but only remembered one line when I got up and tried to get it down. I don't anticipate getting a Big Bang story done this year. The one I'm working on, I don't think will get there in time. I've been so busy with RL. Different crap and health stuff. This is not new news. I didn't think I would get a story done this year even before I signed up. But I signed up just in case. I guess I could get Fragile done - the sequel for my 2016 Big Bang story called Broken. It just doesn't seem like a good fit though. I can't imagine anyone will be interested in it. It's teen!Tony with gruff!Hotchner. Just sort of sad, really. I don't think it's a good fit as a challenge story.

Yes, I have been working on this one. But have failed to track my updates. I started today (07/09) with ch 66 around 1600 words. I'm closing in on 3500 words. Not much left to write in this chapter, or this story. I think one more chapter after this will do it. I set a goal to hit 250K words. Right now, there are 242K posted. I'm hoping ch 66 makes it to 4K. Then I'd only have to write another 4K for ch 67. I've been working on this one since at least April 2010! It will be good to move it to the "completed" pile. FINALLY!
